Scholarships for Ivy Tech to IUPUI Transfers

Indy Achieves at Ivy Tech and IUPUI

  • Indy Achieves assists qualified students receiving state financial aid with additional funds to cover remaining tuition, fees, and supplies
  • Must be a Marion County (IN) resident at the time of admission to Ivy Tech and/or IUPUI.
  • Must be a first-time, full-time, degree-seeking student completing a minimum of 30 credits per academic year
  • File a FAFSA before April 15th (Ivy Tech’s school code: 009917 | IUPUI’s school code is 001813).
  • Must qualify and receive any form of state financial aid (such as Indiana 21st Century Scholar or the Frank O’Bannon Grant)
  • Ivy Tech students transferring to IUPUI will remain eligible for Indy Achieves as long as you are still eligible for state aid and complete at least 30 credit hours each academic year

Transfer Student Scholarships

Passport to IUPUI Scholarship – Fall Deadline: May 15 / Spring Deadline: November 15

  • Competitive scholarship offering a $3,000 annual reward
  • Must become a full-time student and have completed an Associate’s degree from Ivy Tech
  • Must have a minimum Ivy Tech cumulative GPA of 3.5 Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident of Indiana
  • Scholarship is renewable if student maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA and continues full-time enrollment at IUPUI
  • Apply via the IU General Scholarship application found at iu.edu, by searching for “Scholarships”

IUPUI Diversity Transfer Scholarship – Fall Deadline: June 1

  • Competitive scholarship offering a $2,000-$4,000 annual award
  • Students from historically underrepresented racial and ethnic populations are encouraged to apply
  • Must become a full-time student with Indiana residency and have completed an Associate’s degree
  • Must have a minimum Ivy Tech cumulative GPA of 3.5 (a minimum 2.5 GPA consideration for students previously deferred for admission to IUPUI)
  • Scholarship is renewable if a 2.5 GPA is maintained and if enrolled full-time at IUPUI
  • Apply via the IU General Scholarship application found at iu.edu, by searching for “Scholarships”

Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Scholarships

All-USA Academic Team Scholarship – Deadline: November 15

  • Open to non-PTK members with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5
  • Must be nominated by your college’s designated nominator
  • Demonstrate academic achievement and significant campus and community engagement.
  • 20 scholarships of $5,000 each with total awards of $100,000.

Indiana Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (InMATYC) Scholarship –

Deadline: March 7

  • For Ivy Tech or Vincennes University (VU) student currently enrolled in a math course for which Intermediate Algebra is a prerequisite. The student must earn a grade of B or higher in the course and have a minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.2
  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits at Ivy Tech or VU. The award winner will be given up to $600 and will be chosen based on academic achievement, professional objective, and financial need

Competitive Scholarship offering up to $10,000

Two Oaks Scholarship – Deadline: February 5

  • Supports Ivy Tech Indianapolis graduates who have been admitted to IUPUI and plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree dedicated to helping or serving others
  • Must have completed with an Associate’s degree from an Ivy Tech Indianapolis service area location, plan to attend IUPUI to pursue a degree in or related to nursing, medicine, teaching, social work, counseling, or a similar profession, demonstrate financial need, and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Awards are given through the Central Indiana Community Foundation (CICF)

Scholarship Application Tips

  • Once admitted to IUPUI, visit iupui.edu, as well as one.iu.edu by searching the keyword “Scholarships”
  • View your IUPUI academic unit/department/major website to find additional scholarship
  • Ask for recommendations and references early and give an adequate amount of time for the recommendation to be submitted. It is usually preferred that your recommendations come from an instructor and/or an employer that can speak to your work ethic and abilities. Be sure to answer all essay questions completely and have someone look over your spelling and grammar before submitting.
  • Calculate your estimated cost of attendance at: https://bursar.iupui.edu
  • Research transfer scholarships EARLY for important application information and deadlines. For instructions regarding how to apply for scholarships, visit: https://admissions.iupui.edu/cost-aid/
  • The IU Scholarship system will email you recommendations throughout the application season (November – May) as new opportunities become available, so check your email regularly. Remember to check the IU Scholarship system regularly for any updates and any status happenings of applications already submitted.
  • Remember to continue searching for scholarships even after you are a student at IUPUI!
  • To apply for Ivy Tech scholarships, students must be enrolled. Once enrolled, login to MyIvy, click on Student, click on Billing and Financial Aid, and then click on the Apply for Scholarships link. Be sure to complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) before applying for scholarships. Keep in mind you only have to complete one scholarship application for each academic year to be eligible for most Ivy Tech scholarships.

Summer Scholarship
