Apply for the Nina Scholars scholarship program!
We invite you to apply for the Nina Scholars program, which is a scholarship program at Ivy Tech Community College for students who face hardships and adversity that often prevent them from having the opportunity to complete a college degree.
What is the Nina Scholars Program?
The scholarship was created by the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust in 2001 in tribute to the life and values of Nina Pulliam (1906-1997), who was a journalist, business leader, humanitarian, and lover of all creatures. The Nina Scholars Program provides an environment where students from disadvantaged backgrounds can obtain the resources and financial support needed to successfully complete a college education. Benefits of being a Nina Scholar:
Cover full cost of tuition, books and supplies as well as any associated fees
A $3,200 annual living allowance ($355 per month: August through May)
Additional awards to cover student membership fees, transportation support, licensing post-graduation
Personal academic advisor/mentor with monthly meetings
Individualized tutoring
Access to community resources and support
Service learning and cultural events
Quiet space to study and access to tutors
Who is eligible?
The Nina Scholars Program is available to all Ivy Tech Central Indiana students who are U.S. citizens (permanent residents and green card holders do not qualify), have less than 24 college-level credits and meet at least one of the following criteria:
18-25 who have a history of abuse, neglect, lack of effect family support OR have been raised through the child welfare system and have no form of financial support
Students with physical disabilities
Students who have dependents (children or non-traditional dependents)
